The Serengeti gets its name from the Maasai word 'Siringet,' meaning 'the place where the land runs on forever' — and standing on these vast plains, you understand why. Covering approximately 30,000 square kilometers of grassland in Tanzania and Kenya, the Serengeti is home to one of the most concentrated populations of wildlife on Earth, including the famous Big Five: lion, leopard, elephant, rhinoceros, and Cape buffalo.
